Install an eSIM on iPhone

iPhone XS and later support eSIM, with the exception of models sold in mainland China. The phone must not be carrier locked.

QR installation

  1. 1Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service).
  2. 2Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
  3. 3Scan the QR code from your order page.
  4. 4Tap Continue, then Done, and label the plan “Travel”.
  5. 5Under Cellular Data, choose which line is used for data when you arrive.

Manual installation

Use this when you cannot scan the QR code — for example when your order is open on the same phone.

  1. 1Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM.
  2. 2Tap Use QR Code, then Enter Details Manually.
  3. 3Enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your order.
  4. 4Tap Next and confirm.
  • Install the profile while you have a stable internet connection — usually at home, before you travel.
  • A profile can normally be installed once. Do not delete it from the device unless support asks you to.
  • Switching the profile on does not always start your plan: check the activation policy shown on your order.
  • Turn Data Roaming on for the travel line: without it the profile cannot connect abroad.
